You Have Not Failed

If Losing Weight Were Only About Trying Harder, You Would Have Solved It Already.

You may have lost weight before, only to watch it return.

You may have followed diets, counted calories, eliminated foods or entire food groups, exercised harder and promised yourself that this attempt would be different. You may understand what you are supposed to do and still find that hunger, cravings, fatigue, stress, health conditions or everyday life make consistency difficult to sustain.

That does not mean you are lazy, undisciplined or incapable of change.

Body weight is influenced by a multitude of factors, including appetite regulation, genetics, metabolic adaptation, medications, sleep, health conditions, environment, behavior and the realities of daily life. Medical weight management helps identify which factors may be affecting you and uses that information to build a treatment plan around your health, needs and goals.

You have spent years trying to fit your life into someone else’s plan. BurnWell Medical builds the plan around you.

When your plan accounts for your health, your body and your life, a different outcome becomes possible.

Who We Help

Your Story Does Not Have to Look Like Anyone Else’s.

BurnWell Medical serves adults who want clinical guidance, a personalized plan and continued support while working toward better weight and health.

I have repeatedly lost and regained weight.

Hunger or food noise makes consistency difficult.

I want to know whether medication may be appropriate.

I already use a GLP-1 but need stronger clinical and lifestyle support.

I prefer to explore non-medication treatment.

I am worried about losing muscle while losing weight.

I have reached a plateau and do not know what to change.

I want to improve my metabolic health.

I am approaching my goal and need a maintenance plan.

I need a plan that accounts for my health, abilities, preferences and life.

You do not need to arrive with the perfect plan. You need a starting point and an honest conversation about what may work better for you.

What Medical Weight Management Means

A Clinical Strategy for a Complex, Changing Body.

Medical weight management is individualized healthcare focused on helping you lose weight safely, improve your health and build a plan you can continue.

Your provider evaluates your health history, previous weight-loss experiences, medications, symptoms, laboratory findings, body composition, lifestyle, abilities and goals. That information helps determine which combination of medical treatment, nutrition, movement, monitoring and continued support may be appropriate.

No single medication, test or diet defines the BurnWell approach.

Every part of your care should have a purpose. What we learn should help guide what happens next. Your plan should change as your body, health and needs change.

Medication and Non-Medication Care

Injectable and Non-Injectable Options May Be Considered.

Medical weight management is not limited to one drug, one delivery method or one type of patient. Depending on your health, preferences, treatment history and clinical needs, your provider may discuss injectable medication, non-injectable medication or a plan that does not include medication.

Injectable Treatment Options

Injectable treatment may include medications that act on GLP-1, GIP or related appetite-regulating pathways. Some are taken weekly. Others are taken daily. These medications may reduce hunger, increase fullness and decrease persistent thoughts about food. They are not appropriate for every patient. A specific medication, prescription or result cannot be guaranteed.

Examples may include semaglutide, tirzepatide or liraglutide when clinically appropriate.

Non-Injectable Treatment Options

Patients who do not want injections may have other options. Depending on clinical appropriateness, non-injectable treatment may include oral semaglutide, phentermine and topiramate, naltrexone and bupropion, orlistat or another medication selected by the provider. These medications work differently and have different benefits, risks, contraindications, dosing requirements and monitoring needs.

Treatment Without Medication

Medication is not required to become a BurnWell Medical patient. A non-medication plan may include metabolic evaluation, 3D body-composition tracking, personalized calorie and protein targets, nutrition planning, movement, resistance training, behavioral strategies, plateau evaluation and maintenance support.

The purpose of your evaluation is not to direct every patient toward medication. It is to determine which available tools fit your health, preferences and goals.

Thoughtful Medical Care

Treatment Starts With an Individual Evaluation.

Most adults living with obesity, and many adults with overweight and a related health concern, meet the basic criteria to consider prescription weight-management treatment.

Your evaluation helps determine which option fits your health, medications, treatment history, preferences and goals. It also gives your provider the information needed to select treatment carefully and support you throughout the process.

When medication is part of your plan, ongoing care may include:

  • Response and progress review
  • Dose evaluation
  • Laboratory monitoring when indicated
  • Body-composition monitoring
  • Side-effect monitoring
  • Refill management
  • Nutrition and hydration review
  • Medication reassessment as your health and weight change

Eligibility for BurnWell services and prescription treatment depends on clinical evaluation and provider judgment. Joining the waitlist or completing onboarding does not guarantee a prescription for a particular medication. Treatment decisions are made after your clinical evaluation. Individual results vary.

Before We Build the Plan

We Learn About Your Health, Your History and Your Life.

Your BurnWell evaluation may consider:

  • Your health and weight history
  • Previous diets, programs and treatment experiences
  • Current medications and health conditions
  • Hunger, cravings, food noise and eating patterns
  • Sleep, stress, schedule and daily responsibilities
  • Mobility, physical limitations and current activity
  • Laboratory findings and metabolic risk factors
  • Body fat, visceral fat, lean mass and measurements
  • Food preferences, culture and eating style
  • Your goals and what you want life to feel like

This is not an evaluation of how perfectly you followed a diet.

It is an opportunity to understand your starting point, identify barriers and decide what should happen next.

The BurnWell Approach

Six Parts. One Connected Plan.

Advanced 3D body-composition analysis helps measure body fat, visceral fat, lean mass, circumference, posture and physical change over time. The scale shows how much you weigh. Body composition helps show what is changing.

What Research Has Shown

Medication Can Produce Substantial Results.

GLP-1 Medications Have Been Studied for Decades.

GLP-1 medications may have entered the public conversation more recently, but this medication class has been studied and used in clinical care for decades. The first GLP-1 receptor agonist was FDA approved in 2005 for type 2 diabetes, and liraglutide became the first GLP-1 medication approved specifically for chronic weight management in 2014. Ozempic was approved for type 2 diabetes in 2017, followed by newer medications and formulations supported by increasingly large clinical-trial programs.

Each medication has its own potential benefits, risks, eligibility considerations and monitoring requirements.

Large randomized clinical trials have shown that several injectable and non-injectable medications can help eligible adults lose weight when used with nutrition, physical activity and medical care.

Progress Beyond the Scale

See the Changes an Ordinary Scale Can Miss.

A woman standing on the VisBody 3D body-composition scanning platform in a clinical setting.

Every BurnWell member receives comprehensive 3D body-composition analysis throughout their care.

A standard scale gives you one number. BurnWell uses VisBody technology to create a personalized 3D avatar and show how your body is changing beneath that number. Your scans help separate changes in body fat from changes in lean mass, providing a clearer picture of your progress and giving your provider better information to guide your plan.

Your Scan Includes

  • Body-fat percentage and fat mass
  • Lean body mass and segmental muscle measurements
  • Visceral fat estimates
  • Waist-to-hip ratio and body circumferences
  • Posture and body-shape analysis
  • Side-by-side 3D avatar comparisons
  • Changes across consecutive scans

Your Results, Available on Your Phone

After your scan, you can use your personal QR code to access your VisBody mobile report. Review your measurements, view your 3D avatar and compare changes across your weight-loss journey.

Weight Loss Should Not Come at the Expense of Your Strength.

Some lean-mass loss can occur during weight loss, regardless of whether weight is lost through medication, nutrition changes, surgery or another approach. It is not a problem unique to GLP-1 treatment.

BurnWell tracks changes in lean mass so your provider can respond when needed. Your plan may be adjusted through individualized protein targets, nutrition changes, resistance training, treatment review and the pace of weight loss.

Muscle supports strength, mobility, glucose regulation, physical independence and resilience as you age. That is why BurnWell does not focus only on helping you weigh less.

The goal is to reduce body fat, protect muscle and build a body that is stronger, healthier and more capable.

When Progress Slows

A Plateau Is Information. It Is Not Proof That You Failed.

Slower progress does not automatically mean that you need to eat less, exercise harder or increase a medication.

Your provider can evaluate possible contributors such as:

  • Changes in energy requirements after weight loss
  • Medication response or tolerability
  • Hunger and eating-pattern changes
  • Protein and overall nutritional intake
  • Daily movement and structured exercise
  • Sleep, stress and recovery
  • Lean-mass changes
  • Medical conditions or other medications
  • Inconsistent tracking
  • A plan that no longer fits your life

The goal is to understand what changed and determine which part of the plan should be adjusted.

MEASURE THE RESPONSE

What Weight Loss Can Change

Life Can Become Easier in Ways the Scale Cannot Measure.

  • Climbing stairs with less effort
  • Standing, walking, kneeling and getting off the floor more easily

  • Traveling with fewer physical limitations
  • Participating more fully in work, family activities and recreation

PHYSICAL HEALTH

  • Better glucose regulation
  • Improved cholesterol and triglyceride levels
  • Reduced strain on weight-bearing joints
  • Better mobility and exercise tolerance
  • Improvement in some obesity-related sleep problems
  • Reduced risk from some weight-related health conditions

STRENGTH AND CAPABILITY

  • Greater ability to walk, lift, carry, climb and play
  • Increased exercise capacity
  • Better balance and mobility
  • A stronger foundation for resistance training
  • Greater independence as you age

  • Greater comfort in clothing and social settings
  • Less anxiety about seating, transportation and physical access
  • Greater willingness to participate in photographs and events
  • More energy for parenting, relationships and recreation
  • Renewed belief in what your body may be capable of

THE GOAL IS NOT ONLY TO CHANGE YOUR WEIGHT. IT IS TO IMPROVE THE PARTS OF LIFE THAT MATTER MOST TO YOU.

Built from Experience. Backed by Medicine.

I Have Walked This Life.

Shaunn Kollar before his weight-loss journey.

BurnWell Medical was built from both sides of this experience: years of clinical education and years spent living in a body I no longer recognized.

Looking back at this picture still brings back a lot of emotion.

I felt like a prisoner in my own body. I felt trapped, incapable, judged and looked down on. Life was hard physically, mentally and emotionally.

Everyday tasks became challenges. Getting in and out of my car was hard. Kneeling to tie my shoes was hard. Showering became increasingly difficult. Playing with my children the way I wanted to, and the way they wanted me to, became harder. Life was simply harder.

I know what it is like to walk into a party and immediately scan the room for a chair that can comfortably and safely support you. I stood many times because I was too embarrassed to sit down.

Having lived with obesity since childhood, I know what it feels like to be judged, looked down on and made to feel inferior, whether people intended to make me feel that way or not.

I HAVE WALKED THIS LIFE.

That is why I am so passionate about helping people improve their health. It is why I built BurnWell Medical.

I built this practice intentionally to meet people where they are and help them move toward better health. I want every patient to know that their concerns will be heard by someone who has not only studied obesity, weight regulation and metabolic health, but has lived through the physical and emotional realities of them.

I remember what it felt like. I have not forgotten the person in this picture.

I will meet you where you are, extend my hand and help you take the next step forward.

NO ONE CAN TAKE THE STEPS FOR YOU. BUT THE RIGHT CARE CAN HELP YOU KEEP MOVING FORWARD.

Losing a significant amount of weight is hard. I can stand beside you, help you understand your options, build a plan with you, adjust that plan when life changes and help you keep moving when the process gets difficult.

Changing your habits and routines is challenging, but it is absolutely worth it.

Changing your health is worth it.

Changing your life is worth it.

YOU ARE WORTH IT.

I know what it feels like to lose weight, regain it, try another approach and wonder whether the body and health you are working toward will ever feel possible.

GLP-1 treatment changed my life.

It helped quiet the hunger and food noise that made consistency feel like a daily fight against my own biology. It helped me build enough consistency to make that fight a little easier.

The process was not easy. Medication did not do the work for me. I still had to change how I ate, move more, train, recover, learn from my mistakes and keep going.

But that additional help mattered. It helped me continue instead of stopping short again.

I have spent years studying medicine, physiology, exercise science and nutrition. I have also lived this process every day. I have adjusted my plan, struggled, regained momentum and started moving forward again more times than I can count.

I am stronger and more accomplished because of it.

GLP-1 treatment, structured nutrition, exercise and a plan that continued to change with me helped me lose and maintain more than 100 pounds.

My work is not finished.

I am still building strength, improving my performance and working toward the healthiest and most capable version of myself.

That experience shapes the care I am building for every BurnWell patient. Medication is respected as a powerful and legitimate treatment. Weight regulation is treated as the complex medical problem it is. Nutrition, strength, body composition and long-term maintenance are addressed from the beginning.

Most importantly, the person sitting across from me will be seen, heard and cared for as an individual, with a plan built around their health, their needs and their life.
